We're thankful for a great 2018!

As 2018 ends and 2019 begins, we wanted to stop once again and acknowledge the blessings we have received from God and praise Him for His faithfulness and presence throughout this past year.

Looking back at this past year, there are so many great things to celebrate.  So many great memories...so many great moments...so many blessings.

One thing we want everyone to know: our students could not have experienced everything in 2018 without some wonderful help.  So many of you helped out in many ways.  During 2018 we had:

36 parent sponsors on out-of-town youth trips

122 (or maybe 1-2 more or less than 122) parents who hosted devotionals, made cookies, served food, brought breakfast on a Sunday morning, helped provide meals, cooked, drove vans or buses or helped in some other way.  Okay, now having 122 "in-town sponsors" sounds impressive doesn't it?  Well, not to take away from the impressiveness of this statistic, but we need to acknowledge some people were counted more than once.  There were some parents who helped at multiple times and they were counted more than once because they helped at many different times during the year.  There were 122 slots in which we had people helping during the year...and we're thankful to all of the parents who helped.

6 bus drivers who have their CDL who helped us transport students in and out of town.

9 great youth ministry interns

12 small group leaders

2 really dedicated teachers - Silas McNeese (HS Sunday mornings) and Kent Roberts (MS Wednesday nights) - plus 2 other teachers who helped on MS Wednesday nights during the spring semester.

1 church in Texarkana who loaned us a church bus to help us get to Uplift.  :)

During 2018, our students...

...volunteered at the Oklahoma Food Bank, Houston Food Bank, and the Brazos Valley Food Bank.  We also helped with donations to multiple local ministries.

...sponsored 2 children (Isai and Lauren) through Compassion International with monthly donations.

...painted 3 houses in College Station and rebuilt a fence during Paint-O-Rama.

...volunteered at Rapoport Academy in Waco, Texas with the Middle School Mission Trip.

...made shoes out of used blue jeans to be sent to Africa during Soul Link.

...served and shared God's love with 22 students and the houseparents and staff at Sunnybrook Children's Home in Mississippi.

...led 13 different greeting teams which greet at the auditorium doors on Sunday mornings.

All of our youth classes, (of which there were many) along with all of our retreats and other teaching times were Gospel focused.  From our summer theme of "NEXT" to retreat themes like "Exchange", "Act, Serve, Love", and "CommUNITY", our students had the opportunity to learn to love God, love others and live out their lives following in the footsteps of Jesus. We had around 30 different teaching series that were a part of our Sunday morning, Sunday night, or Wednesday night classes.

There were so many things that happened in 2018, and we took thousands of pictures.  We thought you might like to see some of the group pictures from different events or camps.  Below are some of our group pictures from 2018.  Enjoy them, and as you see them, please say a prayer for the students pictured below...pray that their love for God would grow and they would live their lives faithfully for our King!
