Praise God for a great 2019!

As 2019 ends and 2020 begins, we wanted to stop once again and acknowledge the blessings we have received from God and praise Him for His faithfulness and presence throughout this past year.

Looking back at this past year, there are so many great things to celebrate.  So many great memories...so many great moments...so many blessings.

One thing we want everyone to know: our students could not have experienced everything in 2018 without some wonderful help.  So many of you helped out in many ways.  During 2018 we had:

36 parent sponsors on out-of-town youth trips

118 (or maybe 1-2 more or less than 118) parents who hosted devotionals, made cookies, served food, brought breakfast on a Sunday morning, helped provide meals, cooked, drove vans or buses or helped in some other way.  Okay, now having 118 "in-town sponsors" sounds impressive doesn't it?  Well, not to take away from the impressiveness of this statistic, but we need to acknowledge some people were counted more than once.  There were some parents who helped at multiple times and they were counted more than once because they helped at many different times during the year.  There were 122 slots in which we had people helping during the year...and we're thankful to all of the parents who helped.

5 bus drivers who have their CDL who helped us transport students in and out of town.

9 great youth ministry interns

12 small group leaders

6 leaders for Parent Sunday Night class

6 AFC students who taught K-6th grade on Sunday nights

4 really dedicated teachers - Kent Roberts (MS Wednesday nights), Silas McNeese, Bryan Hanna, and Stephen Grove (HS Sunday mornings) and - plus the Robinson's who helped in MS class on Wednesday nights during the fall semester.

Thanks to everyone who helped.  If you were not one of the people who helped, we need you.  Always look for sign-up opportunities or talk to us about how you can help.

During 2019, our students...

...volunteered at the Oklahoma Food Bank, and Ukraine Medical Outreach (in Arkansas)

...sponsored 2 children (Isai and Lauren) through Compassion International with monthly donations.

...painted 5 houses during Paint-O-Rama.

...made bracelets which are used to raise money for a ministry in Africa during Soul Link.

...served 68 3rd-6th grade students by being counselors at Mega Days.

...filled 12 shoe-boxes with Christmas gifts to be distributed by missionaries.

...led 12 different greeting teams which greet at the auditorium doors on Sunday mornings.

All of our youth classes, (of which there were many) along with all of our retreats and other teaching times were Gospel focused.  From our summer theme of "HE>i" to retreat themes like "Pause", "Frequency", "Project Serve", our students had the opportunity to learn to love God, love others and live out their lives following in the footsteps of Jesus. We had around 15 different teaching series that were a part of our Sunday morning, Sunday night, or Wednesday night classes.

There were so many things that happened in 2019, and we took thousands of pictures.  We thought you might like to see some of the group pictures from different events or camps.  Below are some of our group pictures from 2019.  Enjoy them, and as you see them, please say a prayer for the students pictured below...pray that their love for God would grow and they would live their lives faithfully for our King!
