 Back-to-School Family Fellowship 2020

Sunday, August 23
7:00-8:30

All incoming 7th - 12th grade students and their families are invited to the usually annual and always awesome Back-to-School Family Fellowship night.

It's Sunday, August 23.  It's outdoors around the playground and parking lot.  It starts with supper for everyone at 7:00.  (We'll have boxed meals and are taking extra precautions because of covid.)  We'll talk about the upcoming semester and celebrate the great things our God is doing.  This will be a great event, and we really hope all parents, students, and siblings will come.

Be ready to celebrate the start of a new school year.  Bring your enthusiasm and bring your joy.  Be ready to worship.  Be ready to welcome the incoming 7th graders and their families.  Be ready...it's going to be great.

RSVP here for the
Back to School Family Fellowship Meal

For this year's meal we will have pulled-pork sandwich boxed meals for everyone.  Donations of $4 per person will be accepted to help us pay for the meal.  But if you can't pay, come anyway.

One thing we have learned through the years: if you're going to serve a meal at church, it sure does help to have enough food.  But we can't know how much food to buy unless we know how many are coming.  So...please click this link to RSVP for the meal:

Parents of Incoming 8th through 12th grade students:

If you can help set-up, serve, or clean-up, please follow this link to go to our sign-up list:

Back to School Family Fellowship Needs List

(Make sure you log in to CCB or you will only be able to sign-up as Monty instead of signing up as yourself.)

Here are a few additional details if you would like to know more:

- The meal for the evening will be pulled-pork sandwiches.  We will have one for you (along with a side, drink and dessert) if you RSVP by Wednesday night.

- We are going to be outside for the whole evening to try to help keep everyone safe from covid.  Masks are welcome, but not required.  Please be mindful of social distancing.

- Bring a lawn chair (or just sit on the sidewalk or curb) and eat with your family or with other families.

- Parking will be in the "senior adults parking" area by the circle drive.
This will allow us to block off the parking lot outside the youth doors for more room for people to sit and eat.  Eating space will be on the grassy area next to the playground and in the parking lot outside the youth wing.  There is plenty of shade in the parking lot by the trees.

- After we eat, we will all move to the back parking lot for a walk-through line for our 7th grade students.
This will be similar to past years, but we'll be in the parking lot instead of the auditorium.

- This is always a great event.
If you have any friends who have youth ministry age students and who do not go to church or do not know the Lord, please invite them.

- Be welcoming and encouraging.
If you're still reading this, it means you're a very caring and thoughtful person. :)   And that means you are probably a great encourager of others.  Please help make this a great evening by being an encourager to all students and parents, meeting new people, and welcoming new families.

- These nights don't just happen.
It takes a lot of people pitching in to make it happen.   If you can help by serving or cleaning up, click the Needs List link above.
