We need parents to be involved in this youth ministry.  We know you have many demands on your time.  But we also know that you only have 6 years from the time your son/daughter enters 7th grade until the time they graduate.  So we encourage you to be engaged in the spiritual growth of your son/daughter at home and at church.  Do not let the demands on your schedule take you away from one of your most important responsibilities.

Some of the ways we involve parents includes helping with student gatherings, meals, retreats, mission trips, etc.  You will see a list of current ways to get involved below.  We can not do this without the help of our parents.  So please, be involved!

If you are a parent of a MS student, consider helping as a parent sponsor.  We love having parents join us for trips like this.  You need to know that if you do not like students or if you are a grumpy or negative person, this might not be the best thing for you to sign up for. :)  But if you enjoy spending time with students, we would love to have you.  Your responsibilities will be mainly just to hang out with our group, encourage our students as opportunities allow, maybe help with some of our breakfast meals, etc.  Basically just hang out with us for the weekend and help out whenever a need arises.  We will be sleeping at a church in Houston on Friday night and our church on Saturday night, so sleeping may not be the most comfortable, the showers may not be the best, and the food may not be as good as you cook, but there's not many better ways to spend your weekend than helping students learn to love Jesus more.

Kitchen Coordinator for Youth Kitchen

Each month we need a parent who will be a youth kitchen coordinator.  This person will help us make sure our kitchen is well taken care of and help us make sure we have the supplies we need.  Sometime near the end of the month, we'll ask that the coordinator do some simple things like cleaning the fridge, sink, cabinets, and ovens as needed.  A specific list of responsibilities can be found here: www.amyouth.net/YouthKitchenCoordinator/tabid/377/Default.aspx

January 2019: Linda Olvera
February 2019:
Lea McClaran
March 2019: Lea McClaran

More events will be announced soon.  Sign-ups will be available as those events are announced.
