Everyone should sign-up by Sunday, May 26.  If you can sign-up before then, it would be very helpful. We're trying to coordinate supplies, transportation, supervision, food, snacks, and everything else.  If students sign-up late, we do not have room on the bus for them.  And then they have to ride on top of the bus.  And it can hurt when we go under traffic lights if they forget to duck.  :)

Do you have a ladder we can borrow?  We need ladders.  Lots of ladders.  Tall, short, big, little...it does not matter...we need them.  So, if you have one we can borrow, let us know.  You can bring it before Paint-O-Rama or on Tuesday morning.  And please oh please make sure your name is on the ladder somewhere.

We also need some parent help each day at Paint-O-Rama.  If you are a parent and can help one or more days, please let us know.  You can let us know by click on the "Parent" tab at the top of this page.

Paint-O-Rama is not for lazy people.  If you are coming, plan on working and working hard.  It's also not for kangaroos.  If you are a kangaroo, please do not sign-up.

We know, you're afraid to admit it.  You've been sitting around thinking to yourself, "What am I going to do once school is out?"  Well, here's your answer: Paint-o-Rama.  It's a great way to start summer.  Yeah, your worries are gone.

Here are some details:

The Scoop: Starting May 28, we...as a youth ministry...are going to be painting some houses in our community.  It's a great way to serve God by serving others.  We're painting the houses simply because we love Jesus and want to serve others just like He calls us to.

The People and Times:
Paint-O-Rama is for students currently in grades 7-12.  It will happen from 8:30am until 4:00pm each day.  Drop-off and pick-up will happen at church.  Transportation to and from the house will be provided.  We ask that students do not bring a car to the Paint-O-Rama house.

One important note about Paint-O-Rama:
In some previous years it has been difficult for us to pull-off Paint-O-Rama because of not having enough parent help.  The last few years we have had plenty of parent help...so thanks to all of the parents who have helped.  We would love to involve every student who wants to be a part of Paint-O-Rama, but we can't do this without some parent help.  So...the number of students who can participate will be limited to 25 unless we have some parents who can help us out.  If you are a parent and can help, click on the tab that says "Parents" at the top of this page.

The Things You'll Need:
A paintbrush for each day (or the same one, as long as you'll keep up with it and keep it clean; put your name on it), sunscreen, sunglasses, tennis shoes (not your best shoes - they'll get dirty...and probably paint-y), water bottle (optional, but recommended) and a hat (optional).  We will have 5 gallon water jugs at the house for you to refill your water bottle or to fill a cup.  Lunch will also be provided each day, so no need to worry about food.

The Cost:
$3 per day.  This helps cover part of your food, supplies, snacks, equipment, etc., costs.  You can pay each day you come, or you can put your money in the youth box anytime.  One word of caution, we sometimes finish Paint-O-Rama before the third day...so it might be best to not pay for Thursday until we are sure that Paint-O-Rama will happen on Thursday.  (We are not using credit/debit for Paint-O-Rama because the service fees are too high...please use cash or check.)

You may be sitting there, reading this website, and thinking, "Wow, this sounds so amazing, but I have so many questions."  Well, we're here to help.  We've collected some of our most frequently asked questions.  Hope these will help you know more about Paint-O-Rama:

What if I've never painted before?  No worries.  We'll show you how.

Do we just paint and leave?  No, we'll prep the house as needed before we paint.  We'll also finish the job right and make sure everything is done well before we leave.

Last time I brought a paintbrush and didn't get it back.  Don't you like me?  Yes, we like you.  But it could possibly be true that you are not very good at keeping up with your paintrbrush.  We will again remind everyone at Paint-O-Rama to keep up with their brush if they want it back.  Take care of it.  Don't just leave it sitting around when you're done with it like most people would do.  You might even want to put your name on it.

Houses are tall.  I'm not.  How do we paint up high?  Ladders.  (And we could use some ladders.  If your family has a ladder we can borrow, please let Monty know.)

Can teens really paint a house?  Most people would say no.  They're wrong.  We can paint a house and do a great job.

I heard one year it was called Paint-O-Llama and you tried to go to a zoo and paint a llama.  Did that happen?  No, it's just a rumor.

I can paint a house.  Can I paint people too?  No, people painting is not okay at Paint-O-Rama. (This is our nice way of saying, if you're coming to Paint-O-Rama, plan on working and not goofing off.  You goof off, you go home.  We don't want that.  Don't goof off.)

When can I paint people?  Glad you asked.  We are excited to announce that Paint Wars will return again this summer.  Stay tuned for the time and place.

I'd like to sign-up for Paint-O-Rama, but I don't really want to work.  What should I do?  Well, you probably should not come.  If you come and do not work, we will kindly ask you to leave and you'll have to be picked up by your parents.  But if you're willing to work, then by all means, join us!

Why can't you give Elsa a balloon?  Because she will let it go.

I'm afraid of paint.  What should I do?  Consider paint to be your friend.  It's hard to be afraid of a friend.

Will you tell us the summer theme for 2017?  Yep.  Seven.

What about the summer theme for 2018?  Yes.  Next.

And for 2019?  HE>i. Get your shirt by clicking on Summer Shirt at the top of this page.

What if I can't come to Paint-O-Rama all three days?  Well, we definitely want you to come all three days...and we hope you can stay all day for each of those days.  But if you can't, it's okay.  Just come as much as you can.  Just let us know when you plan to come when you sign-up.

I'm allergic to carrots.  Can I still come?  Yes, we are not planning to serve carrots (except maybe as a side dish...but we'll have other sides as well and you can choose one of those.)

I didn't see the link to sign-up.  Can you give it to me again?  Well yes, yes we can.  Here it is: Paint-O-Rama Sign-Up Page
